Study World Philippines Attracts Nearly a Thousand Students seeking Higher Education
Study World Manila, which took place in the Isabela Ballroom at Shangri-La on the 1st of October, managed to beat expectations and achieve a turnout just shy of 900 attendees. Over 26 institutions attended the event including a few of the world's top-ranked universities, such as the University of Manchester, University of St. Andrews, and Istituto Marangoni.
Attendees were predominantly female and in the an age bracket ranging from 19 to 28. Their key objective of learning more about study abroad was achieved through chatting with university representatives and seeking advice from our UKEAS counseling team. Unsurprisingly, given the recent drop in the value of the British Pound, the top choice of study abroad destination was the UK, while the US came in second.
Overall, the event was a roaring success and feedback from attendees – universities and students alike – indicated that a superb afternoon was had by all. A keynote address given by the British Ambassador to the Philippines, Mr. Asif Ahmad, to a captivated audience of 150 students highlighted a day of focus on the incredible educational opportunities available to Filipino students.
Stay tuned for the next Study World event to be launched in conjunction with the British Embassy, which takes place on February 24-26th, 2017 and promises to be bigger and better than ever! Stay tuned for more information.
