New York City. Here is where The International Culinary Center story began in 1984, with the founding of The French Culinary Institute, and it's where our tradition of excellence continues to this day. The International Culinary Center's New York culinary school offerings span every facet of the industry, from chef training programs in culinary arts, pastry arts, bread baking, and cake design to specialized courses in wine studies and restaurant management.

At The International Culinary Center, culinary immersion isn't restricted to what's taught inside the classroom. For students in career programs, extracurricular activities include watching demos with visiting chefs in the International Culinary Theater, browsing the library's extensive collection of books and periodicals, and taking a student club outing to the latest culinary hotspot.

And outside the walls of the school, the city beckons. The International Culinary Center's New York culinary school is located in what is arguably the most celebrated culinary destination in the world. As students make their way through each level of their education, they have at their fingertips a vibrant food scene, with access to international cuisines, four-star restaurants, and trend-setting chefs just a short walk or subway ride away.

Intensive Sommelier Training
The International Culinary Center's sommelier training program is the first in the world to be approved by the renowned Court of Master Sommeliers®. The program combines lecture with intensive wine tastings, food pairings, and practice of service techniques. Students learn how to taste and evaluate bottles from around the world and have the option to take the Court of Master Sommeliers' Certified Sommelier Examination on-site at the end of the course.

If you are serious about becoming a wine sommelier there is only one school for you... All that in just 10 intense weeks.

Different from other wine certification programs!
There are 11 Master Sommeliers on faculty at The International Culinary Center, all of whom share their encyclopedic wine knowledge while focusing on your practical next step: earning your certification from the Court of Master Sommeliers. You’ll be able to earn this distinction in weeks, not years, thanks to our customized, streamlined Total ImmersionSMcurriculum where you’ll taste, learn, and discern, immersing your mind and senses. Nowhere is there a more professional and thorough training available.

The New York City campus, located in the heart of SoHo, is part of the energy and excitement of America’s number one restaurant city. The on-campus wine-centric restaurant, L’Ecole, has earned a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for multiple consecutive years.

In 10 weeks The New York Culinary School will help you study for and obtain the most valued credential in the industry—the sommelier certification from the Court of Master Sommeliers. With this distinction—and access to The International Culinary Center’s job and alumni network—you will be poised to move up in your career and the world of wine, whichever path you should choose.
